In a school like ours every day is an international day in the sense that we have students and teachers from all over the world. But there has to be some excuse to celebrate and we chose 9th November and combined the festivities with Red Nose Day fundraising for charity. The foyer was festooned with flags; there was food tasting and objects from across the world - South Africa, Pakistan, Mexico, Somalia, Egypt, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the USA, among others; there was a morning word by visiting Saudi teachers (praising the Finnish educational system); and there was - as ever - the international show with music and song to round off the day. It was a lot of fun. Purposeful, too. We take our commitment to international-mindedness seriously as corner-stone to the IB experience.
