The annual Pre-DP” boot camp” is an opportunity to break the ice with classmates in the stunning surroundings of Nuuksio National Park.
This year 35 first year students set off with six tutors and three teachers to spend two days walking, swimming and hiking and one night under canvas in waterproof tents. Although rain was forecast we were lucky with the weather and the sun burst through whilst we were sat around the campfire grilling sausages and maize. Tutors were tireless in organizing games and sports; students willingly participated and helped generate the special spirit for which such occasions are renowned. As ever, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with comments such as “The dinner was filling and tasty” and “I liked getting to know people and talking in the tent at night”. Would we do it again? You bet - next year, same time, same place!
A rousing cheer from a successful group
